Tania Alvarez has a dinstinctive graphic style that stole my heart right away. Minimal, intricate, flowing abstractions create almost a poetic, yet filled with bold energy atmosphere.

Inspiring and breathtaking are the detailed paper sculptures by Noriko Ambe that focus in observing the alteration of dynamic shapes and spaces.

A very interesting statement by the artist: “So to speak, I have been mapping the mysterious land between physical and emotional geography. I want to attain something sublime. The entrance of the way is detail. The detail is the key point of nature, and we are part of nature. Even though the actions are simple, I do not try to draw / cut mechanical or perfect lines in my work, for subtle natural distortions convey the nuances of human emotions, habits, or biorhythm. For this reason, I take care to make all works by hand.

When I am drawing or cutting lines, I am interested in observing the power of the changing growing shape. This dynamic shape becomes an entity in itself, "Another geography." In a sense, the empty space is myself, and the materials represent the present world. Cutting book work is like collaboration for me. And it is important to choose the materials carefully because printed matter conveys a message automatically. The relationship between the linear actions and the materials is like the relationship between human beings and their restricted environment, a connection that is interested in me, too.”

The human form is a subject that deeply inspires Antony Gormley who has been creating sculptures of the human body and experimenting with the notion of transformation and collective identity for the last 25 years.

The artist’s both sculptures and large scale installations have been exhibited internationally.

Ron Pippin creates outstanding art out of mechanical & animal parts and various found or collected objects. There is a certain “steampunk” feel in his creations and the artist has mentioned in an interview: “My work is often related to ideas about the relationship of Science, Art, and Nature. My scientific aesthetic is primarily drawn from the 19th Century, when, I feel, science still had a relationship to beautiful forms.”.

A definitely worth viewing collection!

Taxidermy is the act of mounting or reproducing dead animals for display, while Crochet is the process of creating fabric from yarn or thread. The Crochetdermy project of Shauna Richardson is an original combination of the two. The UK based artist creates animals in life size scale, a process that may last even months.

I really like the photographs with her animal creations placed in various urban areas.

Don’t be fooled! These are not canvas paintings, but real people painted by the hand of talented and innovative installation artist Alexa Meade.

Balancing between perception and reality she paints on live models, 3d surfaces and various objects and incorporates her creations into various installations that urge the viewer to experience an alternate perspective of her art.
