I was completely blown away when Adriean Koleric, a talented artist from Canada introduced me to his work!

Amazing visual compositions with a distinct surrealistic touch where past is fused with future leading to the creation of new, fantastic worlds. His intrigue compositions have an exciting color palette that makes the artist’s pieces even more appealing to one’s eye.

Make sure to check out his site for a complete overview of his portfolio!

The work of Randi Antonsen is magnificent in many ways. I really respect that she experiments with various techniques and evolves her artwork in a variety of mediums. Here I’m only presenting you a small sample of her mixed media pieces, collages and paper sculptures.

A part of the artist’s statement: “I have a carefree but fully engaged approach to life and art. I find inspiration in the smallest of things because I “see” with these inquisitive and always looking for magic eyes. My work incorporates many approaches and mediums all in one, but then so does life.”

Harmonic Recompositions 03/31/2010

Ethereal collages by talented Alexis Mackenzie who has been selecting hand-cut images from books for many years and recomposing them into inspiring artworks.

As the artist mentions “It is a meditative process, and there is a lot of decision-making behind each element involved. My general intent, throughout all my work, is to portray the world as a flawed thing of beauty - a place that shines brightly, but has a dark side to match”.

Retro Collages 03/02/2010

Absolutely eye-catching collages by Vantiani. Her beautiful color and tone palette bring out a certain retro feel and I particularly like the way she mixes and composes her themes.
There is a lot of texture and pattern in her work, making it even more interesting to look at.

Retrowhale’s Oddities Art 02/13/2010

Textured papers, wood, vivid colors, paintings, drawings, sketches and a vivid, almost surreal imagination are the key components of this little art kingdom called Retrowhale!

As it is mentioned in Retrowhale’s Etsy Shop: “My shop is filled with random cheesy, cutesy, artsy stuff. I’m inspired by everything but especially 70’s and 80’s design, rap lyrics, animals, and oddities.”

Can you spell coolness?

RESTLESS THINGS 01/24/2010

An inspiring and poetic artwork collection by Olivia Jeffries. I love the way texture plays a vital role in her pieces. As the artist notes: “Letters, books or journals for example are detached from their original role and are combined with imagery drawn from unexpected perceptions of beauty. Drawing and the use of line is intrinsic to my exploration of the barely tangible traces of life. Combining this with elements of painting, printmaking and collage I aim to create images that project the vulnerability of love, the precariousness of life and inevitability of death and hopes that anyone who observes my work will find within it equal parts beauty and sadness.”

Take a look at her print collection in her Restless Things shop in Etsy and view works in progress in her blog.

A young designer with a background in fashion and textile design is the creator of these intriguing conceptual collages.

The eye as a prevailing symbol is used in all three selections of her artwork.
