The creations of Lyn Swan quickly gained my attention. Minimal and playful – her items are very original and whimsical and this collection in particular inspired by nature.

As Lyn notes in her online shop: “I was born to work in clay, ever since I remember I have been addicted to clay and been producing for over thirty five years .... yikes ..... that seems a long time, but time flies when you are having fun!” And it surely shows that the artist puts her heart in her pieces.

In Mud Puppy one can browse through a truly gorgeous collection of modern ceramic hanging air plant pods along with various air plants called tillandsias.

As the crafter informs us: “They look amazing individually or hung in groups! You can also display these right side up on a shelf or table just by taking the cord and hanger out.”

Amazingly intricate designs primarily inspired by nature and computing by the Nervous System creative duo: Jesse Louis-Rosenberg and Jessica Rosenkrantz.

Found in 2007, in Nervous System one can find a wide variety of pieces produced in various materials such as silicone rubber, stainless steel, gold, wool and nylon.

“Nervous System is an experimental design firm that uses new technologies to reinterpret natural phenomena. Instead of designing individual objects, we write computer programs that detail a design process generating a myriad of designs.”

Cut out Magic

An enchanting paper sculpture collection by Helen Musselwhite who creates whimsical artwork inspired by the natural world!

As the artist states: “Each piece combines the hand cutting, folding and scoring of a wide range of papers and card that are further worked on to create patterned and textured surfaces. They are then used to build scenes in box frames which are often complex and consist of many layers. This process means that each item of work is truly individual with no two pieces the same.”

Haus of Gloi is the bath & beauty project of a creative young couple with a passion for all natural and pure! “We're both vegans and feel that our business should reflect our lifestyle, as such, all products are vegan, ingredients locally sourced as much as possible, recycled and absolutely cruelty free, made with love!”.

Their specialty? Handmade soaps, scrubs, lotions and many more beauty candies! Which are gorgeously photographed I must add!

Tim Witteveen creates small samples of our natural world: mosses, stones and lichens placed within beautifully colored glass shapes that are certain to add a touch of green to one’s space.

The designer has a background in illustration but gradually grew an interest for living dioramas within which he could unfold his creativity and love for nature. As he notes: “A well designed terrarium will stir your imagination and could transport you into a daydream. Look very closely, and you may see yourself as a child exploring the landscape within.”
