Longoland

Longoland is the place where strange creatures inhabit.

As artist Joshua Ben Longo states: “I give life to inanimate objects. I strive to get strong reactions through gesture and character. It is a process of two and three dimensionally sketching and a slow and intuitive exploration of material and form. More recently I have been exploring abstract narratives, rituals and their social context, and my early childhood perception of superheroes.”

The artist has participated in numerous exhibitions and his original work has been showcased in various publications. He currently teaches three dimensional design at Pratt Institute.

Adoptabot

Just how cool and creative is to design an amazing robot by collecting and assembling used parts? Too cool I’m sure!

I was amazed with the detail and design of these original robot sculptures, created by talented Brian Marshall who notes: “Soon, my basement became a place where all the unwanted, used up parts from commercial enterprises and residential homes could now come to find hope. This was when I created the world’s first robot orphanage. These parts refused to give up on life just because they were being discarded. So with a little help from myself, these parts were coming together with new and unusual friends to fulfill their dreams of once again bringing joys to others.”

In Adoptabot you can browse through a wider selection of bots, waiting for you to adopt them :)

Space Boy Robots

Jordo and Marcos are the 2 talented toy designers behind Space Boy Robot! Unique, handmade and most importantly, filled with inspiring imagination and creativity, these robot characters should really be considered art objects!

As the designers note: “Each robot contains a secret compartment that is usually unnoticed by most folks. The robot can be used to store: money, engagement rings, tiny pictures, wishes, paper clips, keys, Xanax, rocks, matches, glitter, beads, teeth, lint, bolts and screws, girls’ phone numbers, various shiny objects, newspaper clippings, a locket of hair from that girl you’ve been secretly stalking, a lucky 4 leaf clover, a shower cap from a posh hotel and much much more!”

Rush to their shop to get your own space boy robot or go for their flickr album and be amazed by even more creations!

Emily is the creator of these amazingly original and cute bears. Each little character is accompanied by a short story of its own and always seem to carry something in its lap: crystals, tiny bells, beads or even another cute tiny animal figurine!

The artist lives and creates in Ireland and the materials she mainly uses is wool, felt and tiny decorative jewelry. Blogs here!

A lovely collection for all bear-maniacs! View more in her ememem etsy shop!

A very original decorative collection of objects entirely made out of bottle caps and tins.

Recycling is becoming a must in crafts. How cool is that?
